Grapes Chardonnay
The estate was acquired by the Antinori family in 1940. It is located approximately 18 km from the city of Orvieto and is a wonderful example of medieval military architecture. The microclimate is cool, suitable for the production of white wines and Pinot Noir. The first Chardonnay Castello della Sala was produced in 1994.
Description
Color: Brilliant yellow color with green hues.
Fragrance: The wine reveals a fresh and complex bouquet with buttery notes wrapped in vanilla.
Taste: Its character is expressed through good structure, elegance and minerality. The freshness is wonderfully balanced with well-integrated oak aromas.
Aging: Part of the wine is left to mature in oak for a period of five months, and the rest, immediately after fermentation, is placed in stainless steel vessels, where it matures on fine lees until blending and bottling.
Serving temperature: 10°-11°
Food pairing: An exceptionally gastronomic wine – very enjoyable with or without food. Pairs well with seafood, pasta, baked fish and goat cheese.
Storage potential: 10 years.
