Le Coule de Beaujolais Sancer Blanc 0.75

74.22 €

A legendary name from Sancerre. Does the word „cul“ – „bottom“ or „asshole“ in French – refer to its location on the edge of lands once owned by Anne de Bois? Maybe.

What is certain is that this slope is even steeper than Les Monts Damnés. Caring for this vineyard is a heroic task and only manual labor matters. The result? A powerful richness, incomparable to anything else.

Description

The Le Cul de Beaujeu plot is located on an area of 54 acres, on an east-facing hill, and benefits from dense marl soil, which gives this Sauvignon Blanc the richness and typical chewy texture of Chavignon.

The steep terrain means the vines have to fight hard to thrive. And although they produce fewer grapes than other plots, their flavors are extremely concentrated.

Color: pale, green-golden.
Fragrance: Combining citrus nuances and accents of juicy white fruits, this Sancerre white wine is reminiscent of the rich landscapes of the Mediterranean.
Taste: Wonderful freshness, open attack, delicate taste of green and lemon, citrus fruits, aroma of green apple and kiwi. Minerality gives the wine a long finish, and softness and elegance are characteristics of all the producer's wines.
Aging: Hubert Brochard's team perfected this refined strength over time, aging the wine for 12 months, half in 400 and 600 liter oak barrels and the other half in amphorae.
Serving temperature: 10°-11°
Food pairing: Its full body and concentrated flavor and impeccable minerality make it an ideal companion to gourmet dishes with rich flavors such as foie gras and dishes rich in umami flavors.
Storage potential: 5 years.
